The tie
Each bloom is bound by hand around jasmine, lily, amaranth, marigold, or carnation. No two openings are identical.

The cup
Water at 85–95°C. Three to five minutes. Watch the flower stand, then drink. Resteep it three or four times.

The craft
A small bundle, tied to open later.
Blooming tea is pan-fired green tea wrapped around edible flowers. In the glass the leaves drop and the flower stands up. The liquor stays a green tea: floral, light, and able to take another pour.
We harvest the leaf on the family farm and the blooms are tied in Fu'an. There is no middle brand between the field and the cup.

Five quiet steps
- Warm the glass. A hot rinse, then tip it out.
- Add one bloom. Leave it whole. Give it 200–300 ml of room.
- Pour at 85–95°C. Boil, wait a minute, pour down the side.
- Steep 3–5 minutes. Taste at three. Watch it the whole time.
- Resteep. Three or four pours. A little longer each time.
